Reporting phishing emails

Reporting phishing emails

We have an easy to use tool for reporting phishing and suspicious emails via Outlook app on PC, mobile devices, and web. You can report suspect emails directly to Medexus IT (which are also sent to Microsoft for analysis) using the new “Report Phishing” add-on (which has been automatically deployed to your Outlook app) following the instructions below.

Once your submission is reviewed you will receive a confirmation email indicating whether the submitted email was in fact phishing or contained no threats. In case the submitted email was found to contain no threats you can retrieve it from the “Deleted Items” folder in Outlook.

Outlook on PC or Mac:

  1. Select the suspect email in your Inbox but do not click on any links in the body of the email or attempt to open any of the attachments
  2. Click the “Report Phishing” button in the top “Home” actions ribbon
  3. Once Report Phishing button is clicked a notification will be displayed indicating that the email was reported before this email is automatically deleted from your Inbox

Outlook on mobile devices:
  1. Select the suspect email from your Inbox and do not tap any links in the body of the email or attempt to open any of the attachments
  2. Tap the ellipsis (“…”) icon next to the “To” line (not the one at the top of the screen) then “Report Phishing” button in the pop-up menu
  3. Once Report Phishing button is tapped the selected email will be reported and automatically deleted from your Inbox

Outlook on the web (accessible via Okta web portal at https://medexus.okta.com using “Office 365 Mail” icon):

  1. Select the suspect email from your Inbox and do not click any links in the body of the email or attempt to open any of the attachments
  2. Click the ellipsis (“…”) icon next to the “To” line then “Report Phishing” button in the pop-up menu (once you used it at least once Report Phishing action will be available in the quick actions menu to the left of the ellipsis)
  3. Once Report Phishing button is clicked the selected email will be reported and automatically deleted from your Inbox

Alternatively, you can forward a suspicious email as attachment to phish@medexus.com
